CommentIndex of names from 'A Hand Book to St Mary's Church, Fort St. George, Madras', written by the Rev. Charles Herbert Malden, Canon of St George's Cathedral, Madras and Garrison Chaplain, 1893-4 and 1901-6. The transcription is of The Old Tombstones | Outside St Mary's Church. The other memorials recorded in the book are of those inside the church.

The book contains a useful checklist (as at 1905) of the church's registers from 1680.

The book is in the library of the East India Club in St James's Square, London SW1Y 4LH.

Description of Gravestone  A double eagle crest. Inscription in Latin.    
Inscription  Here lies Bernard MIDON, a native of Wurtemburg in Germany, in this city of Madraspatam joined in matrimony with Madam Siquera. He died in peace fortified with all the sacrements of the Catholic Church 28th Dec., in the year of salvation 1689. Pray for him.
