Inscription  To the Memory of Alexander Gordon Caulfield Esq., whose premature death occasioned as deep and universal sorrow, as his personal worth, great talents and happy manners had inspired respect and conciliated affection. He was drowned in crossing the river opposite this city in company with his intimate friend, T. Abraham, Esq., on the evening of the 28th March 1818, aged 42 years.
