Inscription  This perishable Monument covers the revered remains of the late George Ewan Law, Esq., of the Civil Service of Bengal. Natus the 28th October 1796. Obit.the 6th day of November A.D. 1820, Aetatis 24 years. Erected by J. and C. Hayes, as a faint memento of their unceasing affection for the irreparable loss of their justly beloved and truly virtuous son-in-law, 1821.
