Detail  [Pages 200-201. Native of Kent. Received his education at a military seminary in France. Entered the EIC service in 1825. Served 10 to 12 years with the 14th Bengal NI. ""While he was stationed at Loodianah in 1831 the foreign officers in Runjeet Singh's service frequently visited the Political Agent, Sir C.M. Wade, and Mackeson's fluency in French was turned to good account."" This brought him to notice, was appointed Assistant Political Agent. Was a surveyor. Was murdered by a religious fanatic from Koner while on his veranda]
