Detail  At Clifton, Charles Franklin Head, Lieut.-Col. unattached, and late of the Queen's Royal (2nd regiment). He entered the service in 1811, and became a Lieut.-Col. on the occasion of the Prince of Wales's brevet in 1841. He served with the 93rd Highlanders during the expedition to South America and the campaign in New Orleans. He subsequently proceeded to India, and was there employed for many years. He acted as Assistant Quartermaster Gen. to the force assembled before Kolapore, in the Southern Mahratta; and was employed in Canada in a particular service during the late outbreak. During his late years of service he was connected with the 2nd Royals.
