Detail  [Pages 652-656. At his residence, Langham, Norfolk, in his 56th year. In March 1823 in the Larne, 18 he went to the East Indies where until the Burmese War in 1825 he was the senior officer of the naval forces, ""the order of Commodore Grant being that none should interfere with or supersede him."" He led the attack at Rangoon. When relieved by Capt. Chads in Sept 1824 ""he had lost nearly the whole of his ship's company"". He now proceeded to Penang and Calcutta, returning to Rangoon in Dec. 1824, and in Feb. 1825 sailed with the late Sir Robert Sale on an expedition to reduce the territory of Bassein]
