In 1799 appointed aide-de-camp to the Earl of Guilford, Governor of Ceylon, and went in 1801 to Egypt. in 1803 he was again in Ceylon under Major-Gen. Hay Macdonald. He married in Sept 1807 Laura, 4th dau. of William Hobson, esq. of Markfield, Middlesex, 4 sons & 7 daus., including Richard Hussey Charles Moubray, Captain 1st Madras Cavalry, who died in 1843.
