He had married, 1st, in 1776, Anne daughter of John Skinner of Lydd, Kent, who died in 1780, and 2nd in 1782 Anna Barbara daughter of Sir Charles Whitworth of Leybourne, Kent (she died in 1814) and had 6 sons and 5 daughters including Sir Henry Russell, who succeeds to the title, born 1783, who married 1st in 1808 Jane Casamajor of Madras, who died same year, and 2nd Maria Clotilde Mottet of Pondicherry; and Francis Whitworth Russell, a commissioner for investigating the debts of the nabobs of Arcot] |
