CommentThese are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date.

The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1856: Writer. 1857: Student at the College. 1858: Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Coimbatore. 1861: Officiating Head Assistant at Coimbatore; Head Assistant, Kistna. 1862: On medical leave for 2 years and 6 months. 1865: Assistant, afterwards Acting Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, North Arcot, and at South Arcot; Acting Sub-Collector , South Arcot; Sub-Collector, Bellary. 1867: Acting Judge of Small Cause Court, afterwards Sub-Judge , Vellore; Acting Civil and Sessions Judge, Chittoor. 1868: Acting Civil and Sessions Judge, Bellary. 1871: On furlough to Europe for 18 months. 1873: District and Sessions Judge, Godavari, also of North Arcot. 1874: Acting District and Sessions Judge, Chittoor; District and Sessions Judge, South Arcot. 1879: Acting Collector and Magistrate, and Agent to the Governor of Fort St. George, Vizagapatam. 1880: Died, 14th May, at Vizagapatam.
