Comment	These are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date. The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

	Summary of Service	1851: Writer and Student at the College. 1854: Assistant to the Collector and Magistrate, Tinnevelly. 1856: On medical leave for 15 months. 1857: Assistant and Acting Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Tinnevelly. 1859: Acting Sub-Collector and Magistrate, Canara, afterwards at Madura. 1860: Sub-Collector and Magistrate, Madura. 1862: On furlough to Europe. 1864: Retired from service, 8th February. (Invalid Annuitant.) 1878: Died 19th January, at Henley-On-Thames.
