CommentThese are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date.

The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1831: Writer. 1833: Assistant to Principal Collector and Magistrate, Bellary. 1834: Acting Register to the Zillah Court of Cuddapah. 1835: At first Acting, and afterwards Register to the Zillah Court of Chittoor. 1840: Acting Deputy Collector of Land Customs, Madras. 1841: Acting Assistant Judge and Joint Criminal Judge, Rajahmundry. 1842: Proceeded on furlough. 1845: Acting Assistant Judge of the Zillah of Calicut. 1846: Acting Sub-Judge of the Zillah of Calicut. 1852: Proceeded to England. 1856: Acting Civil and Sessions Judge, Guntoor. 1857: Civil and Sessions Judge, Guntoor. 1862: On medical leave for 15 months; Civil and Sessions Judge, Masulipatam. 1863: Civil and Sessions Judge of Nundial, and of Chittoor; also Collector and Magistrate of South Canara. 1864: Resigned the service, 1st April. (Annuitant.) Died, 2d July 1882, at Ootacamund.
