Body of text  DANIEL HARPER GERRARD, born 17th April 1914 at Clachan, Argyll, son of Rev. Daniel Harper Gerrard and Jane Ann Cumming Morris; educated at Leith Trinity Academy 1921-6, Dundee Morgan Academy 1926-9, Glasgow Hillhead High School 1929-32, University of Glasgow 1932-8, MA (1935); licensed by Presbytery of Glasgow 20th April 1938; assistant Hamilton Burnbank 1939-42; ordained as Chaplain to the Forces by same Presbytery 8th February 1942; inducted Rangoon Scots Kirk (Presbytery of London North) 28th August 1947; commissioned as Chaplain RAF 8th June 1949. Married 17th March 1942, Sarah Campbell, elder daughter of A S Hunter, Glasgow.
