Body of text  ALEXANDER TAYLOR MACKENZIE, born 19th November 1908 at Edinburgh, son of Matthew Morton Mackenzie and Eliza Watson Taylor; educated at University of Edinburgh 1929-35, MA (1932), BD (Distinction in New Testament 1935); licensed by Presbytery of Edinburgh 5th April 1935; assistant Portobello Old 1935-7; ordained and inducted North Berwick Abbey 1th May 1937; translated and inducted 28th August 1949 (Colombo, Ceylon). Married 15th April 1939, Isobel Millicent, born 14th October 1906, youngest daughter of John Eason and Isabella Law, North Berwick, and has issue, Alasdair Eason, born 29th February 1940.
