Body of text  DAVID SPOWART, born 29th April 1915 at Dunfermline, son of David Spowart and Helen Watt Eason; educated at Dunfirmline McLean Public School 1920-7, High School 1927-33, University of Edinburgh and New College 1933-9, MA (1936); licensed by Presbytery of Dunfirmline and Kinross, Good Friday 1939; assistant Galashiels St Cuthbert's 1939-41; ordained and inducted Harthill Forrest Memorial 8th May 1941; appointed to Rajputana 1946. Married 5th July 1952, Mary Gordon, born 5th July 1929, daughter of John Elliot and Helen McLeveny, and has issue, David Elliot, born 15th June 1953; Helen Gordon, born 3rd February 1955.
