Body of text  WILLIAM SCRYMGOUR RHODES, born 15th November 1916 at London, son of Edward Hugh Rhodes and Helen Edith Lawrie Patricia Rhodes; educated at London St Paul's School 1930-5, University of Cambridge Trinity College 1935-8, MA, MB, ChB (1942), London Middlesex Hospital 1938-41, Edinburgh New College 1948-51, BD (1951), Union Theological Seminary, New York, 1951-2, STM (1952); House Surgeon, Addenbrocket [sic] Hospital, Cambridge 1942; service in RAMC 1942-8; licensed by Presbytery of Edinburgh 1951; assistant Edinburgh St George's 1952-3; ordained by same Presbytery as missionary 22nd Nov 1953; medical missionary at Jalalpur from April 1954. Married 1953, Helen Dear, born 28th May 1928, daughter of Gordon B W and Margaret McDonald, and has issue, Margaret Patricia, born 10th September 1954.
