Body of text  JOHN HALL PATTERSON, born 11th February 1911 at Aberdeen, son of John Hall Patterson and Jessie Ann Smith; educated at Aberdeen Robert Gordon's College 1916-28, McGill University, Montreal 1928-31, BA (1931), Presbytery College Montreal 1931-4, BD (1934); student missionary in Quebec 1929, Prince Edward Island 1930, New Brunswick 1931, 1932, Saskatchewan 1933; licensed by Presbytery of Montreal 1934; assistant Aberdeen East of St Nicholas 1934-6; ordained and inducted Strathkinness 24th January 1936; service as Chaplain to the Forces from September 1939, invalided out April 1942; inducted Bombay Scots Kirk 17th June 1946. Married 7th November 1941, Evelyn Lucy, daughter of Rev. T M Evans, Vicar of Ecchenswell with Sydmanton, Newbury, Berks, and has issue, John William, born 7th March 1943; Elizabeth Ann Lucy, born 12th October 1948.
