Register Entry  In Holles St Cavendish Square on the 5th Jan last Major General Francis James Thomas Johnston CB of the Bengal Cavalry. General Johnston was the 2nd son of Samuel Johnston Esq of the Madras Civil Service & the Honorable Hester Maria daughter of Lord Napier & brother of the Right Honorable Sir Alexander Johnston formerly Chief Justice of Ceylon & now a member of Her Majestys Privy Council in England. After 45 years Service in India he returned to his native land in 1842 to enjoy that repose so necessary to a constitution impaired by a long laborious & devoted service to his country
