Inscription  To the memory of James Grant Thomason, BCS, Deputy Commissioner of Mohumdee Murdered by the mutineers at Aurungabad in Oudh June 5th 1857. This tablet is erected by George E L Cotton, DD Bishop of Calcutta Formely his tutor in Rugby School. In thankful recollection of his character in boyhood and in the sure confidence that he is now with Christ.
