Service  Assistant- Surgeon Hilson served with "Peels" Naval Brigade, the Nepalese Troops, and the 18th Punjab Infantry, in the Campaign of 57, 58, and 59. Was present in numerous engagements with the enemy. Services mentioned in the Despatch of Brigadier Rowcroft, 23rd March 58 ; in the Despatch of Captain Sotheby, Commanding the Naval Brigade, 25th March 58; and in the Despatch of Brigadier Rowcroft, 31st March 58. Wounded severely in the face by a musket ball.
