Service  Lieutenant Gurdon served at Neemuch during the Mutinies, 57, from August to December. Present at " Nembhaira" with the Neemuch Force under Colonel Jackson; at Jeerun, 23rd October, under Major Simpson. As a Volunteer Gunner with the Garrison of the Fort of Neemuch with the Artillery when the Fort and Station were besieged by the rebels from Mundesore, from 11th to 22nd November, when the rebels raised the siege, owing to the advance on Mundesore, under Bri­gadier Sir C. Stuart. Medal, Mentioned in Despatch of Major Simpson.
