Service  Captain Gibbs served throughout the Sutlej Campaign, in 45, 46. Present at the battle of Sobraon, 10th February 46, and subsequent pursuit of the Sikhs. Medal. Served with the 68th Regiment during the War with Burmah, in 52, 53, and 54. Medal. Served with Brigadier McCauslands Force in Kumaon and Rohilcund, against the mutineers, in 57, 58. Present in the several engagements of the 14th September, 2nd October 57, and 1st January 58. Present with Brigadier Sir Thomas Seatons Force in the operations before Shahjehanpore, in September 58. Medal. (Has received a certificate of qualification in Civil Engineering.)
