He deserted his party at the Mount with his Fusee and Bayonet and nine rounds of ball cartridge. He proceeded to the adjacent village of Sidapet and shot and killed four defenceless natives, to plunder their turbans and cloths. The Serjeant of the party sent to apprehend him gave an account that Dillon fired upon them and ran away.
