Yesterday arrived letter from the Ship Copenhagen, Captain Kroger, at anchor in the Tranquebar Roads. It mentions that Hyder Ali's Troop were come within 2 miles of Tranqubar (the Danish Factory). Hyder sent his General to conference with Mr La Baume, and the government. He wanted 2 Lacks of Rupees but could only obtain 20,000 Rupees. He demanded at the same time that Captain MacIntosh, the English Resident should be delivered up, but he escaped by going on board a Ship in the Roads for Madras.
