Thomas. Hancorne, ot Newcastle, Glamorganshire. He had distinguished himself for his abilities and acquisition of the Hindoostannee Language, and the usual honorary reward of 300l[sic] was adjudged to him by the Right Honourable the Governor in Council, the 25th Nov. 1816. He was of niild and amiable manners, had gained the esteem of his brother officers, was regular and, attentive to his regimental duties, arid was a most affectionate and dutiful son�and all the parent could wish.
