Inscription  (John) Michel, Lieutenant Corps of Royal Engineers, son of General Michel of Dorsetshire, England. He died at Kandy on the (25th) day of April in the year of our Lord 1824 and in the 26th year of his age of a malignant fever caught in the discharge of his duty at the Kospotta-oya, Seven Korles, in this island.
