Entry  Lt-Colonel : in the Bengal Staff corps :- gained the V.C. in the mutiny, for daring bravery at the village of Baroun Oct. 14, 1858, when with four men he charged, under heavy fire, up a narrow street, to a building occupied by about seventy sepoys : Deputy Conservator of Forests in the Central Provinces : died at Sagar on April 11, 1891.
