M.I. in expeditionary force to Malta, 1878 : commanded a Brigade in Afghan war, 1879-80, and troops in action of Mazina : C.B. : held various civil and military appointments in India, including the command of the 1st class District of Sikandarabad : General : K.C.B., 1897.
