Entry  Educated at the Hindu College under David Hare (q.v.), and Derozio {q.v.) : was appointed a Munsif in 1832 and rose high in the native judicial service. In 1852 he was made junior Magistrate of Calcutta, and in 1854 a Judge of the Small Cause Court : held the post till his death in 1868. His bust, in marble, was placed in the main entrance of the Court.
