Register Entry  In the Fort on the 18th November Thomas Hume eldest son of Conductor W Moore aged 16 years and 18 days. His sufferings for upwards of three months were great from the malignant nature of his disease but he bore them with the most exemplary patience and resignation to the will of his Heavenly Father and was enabled through grace not many hours previous to his decease to say that he was not afraid to die. He was a very promising young man esteemed highly by all who knew him and always loved by all the members of this family who have suffered a severe deprivation in his loss; but to him it is gain -- to the end was peace
