He died at Kurnaul on the 21st October from the ffects of exposure during his tour of inspection. He was a most realous and intelligent public officer an experienced physician a skilful surgeon and a kind friend to the sick of which many now in India have felt the proofs during his residence at the Capt of Good Hope. He was an affection husband and father and a sincere friend. The loss of few public men can be more deeply felt nor the loss of any private individual more sincerely regretted. The beneficial effects of his attention to the Hygiene of the HMs troops since his arrival in India are now being developed and his untimely death from over zeal to complete these arrangements must ever be lamented. | | Edition Year | 1841 | | Edition Date | 3 Nov |
