	Entry	Daughter of the first Baron Auckland, sister of the second Baron, first Earl (q.v.), whom she accompanied to India, while Governor-General, from 1836 to 1842: born March 3, 1797: she published Portraits of the People and Princes of India, 1844, and Up the Country, 1866, and two volumes of her Letters from India were published in 1872 by her niece, Eleanor Eden. She also wrote the novels The Semi-detached House, and The Semi-attached Couple. Her writings contain an interesting account of the social and domestic life of a Governor-General and his household. She died Aug. 5, 1869.
