	Entry	A member of the Bombay Educational Department, and a well-known contributor to the Indian Antiquary : considered by archaeologists as an authority on the astronomical and chronological systems of the Hindus : the verification of the dates in ancient Hindu records was his principal subject : was the first to point out the right method of studying the question : collaborated with R. Sewell (q.v.) in the preparation of the Indian Calendar, published in 1896 : died of fever, 1898 : an enthusiastic and disinterested worker, and a winning personality.
