Roberts : at Ali Khel : at Charasia : in the operations round Kabul, 1879 : gained the V.C. for gallantry in an attack on Dec. 13, 1879 : in the Kabul- Kandahar march and subsequent battle : with his regt. in the Boer war: killed at Ladysmith, Jan. 6, 1900, while commanding the 2nd battalion.
