Entry  Born Oct. 10, 1822 : son of Raja Raj Krishna Bahadur, and grandson of Maharaja Naba Krishna Bahadur, of the Sovabazar family : educated at the Hindu College : was, for a short time, in Government service : was a Municipal Commissioner of Calcutta, and Justice of the Peace : Honorary Magistrate : several times President and Vice-President of the British Indian Association : Fellow of the Calcutta University : made Raja, 1875 : Member of the Governor- General's Legislative Council : Maharaja, 1877 : and K.C.I.E., in 1888: Maharaja Bahadur, 1892 : held a number of minor honorary offices : died March 20, 1903.
