Body of text  WEBSTER, ALEXANDER, born 1788 ; licensed by Presbytery of St Andrews 9th November 1818; appointed by Court of Directors HEIC 3rd, and ordained (by Presbytery of Cupar) to chaplaincy at Madras 9th April 1822 ; died 25th October 1829. He married Jessie __(surname not recorded) (born 1797, died 4th August 1839), and had issue - William, born 20th May 1821 ; Janet, born 10th August 1822, died 25th January 1896; Alexander, born 2nd July 1825; Robert, born 14th February 1827; Thomas, born 22nd November 1828.
