Body of text  MITCHELL, JAMES DONALD, born Ceylon, 17th August 1875, son of James M and Normanna Reid; educated at Raining's School, Inverness, High School and University of Glasgow; MA (1896), BD (1899); licensed by Presbytery of Dingwall May 1899; assistant at Reay May to October that year, Bellahouston October 1899 to June 1901, Shettleston June 1901 to October 1903, St Columba's, London, October 1903 to March 1904; ordained to Scots Church, Gillingham, Kent, March 1904; appointed chaplain at Mhow, India (under Colonial Committee),February 1906; Presidency senior chaplain and senior chaplain, St Andrew's Church, Bombay, 1925. Married 28th January 1908, Constance Maria, daughter of Robert Edward and Alice Inman, and has issue - James Edward Constantine, born 29th October 1908; Joan Edith, born 4th December 1914; Irene Normanna, born 5th October 1920, died 10th April 1922.
