Body of text  GREIG, THOMAS HUTCHISON, born 17th February 1842, son of George G, minister of Tinwald; educated at Hutton Hall Academy and Universities of Edinburgh and St Andrews; licensed by Presbytery of Dumfries; assistant at Biggar and Lesmahagow; ordained to Indian chaplaincy (Bombay) 21st February 1873; served in Afghanistan under Lord Roberts; senior Presidency chaplain in 1883; retired 22nd August 1897; died 26th March 1916. He married 11th March 1884, Alice Renton (born 4th August 1864), daughter of James Bapty and Annie Renton, and had issue - Annie Renton, hospital nurse, born 22nd February 1885; George, born 15th July 1887, died 1st October 1889; Alice Renton Bapty, born 17th September 1888; Agnes Rankine Hutchison, MB, ChB (Edinburgh 1914), Dufferin Hospital, Calcutta, born 19th June 1890; Hew Hutchison, engineer, born 21st September 1892; James Bapty, fruit farmer, California, born 18th January 1896; Louis Thomas Hutchison, merchant, born 26th June 1905.
