He married Ann (married (2) - Turner) daughter of James Watson, schoolmaster of Rafford, and Ann Logie, and had issue - James, died young; Theodore, curator Art Gallery, Kelvingrove, Glasgow, author of History of Govan, The Battlefields of Scotland, and other works.
