Entry  Major, son of William Campbell : entered the Bengal Artillery in 1805 : served under Lord Lake : was, in 1801, Adjutant and Quarter-master of Artillery : held other appointments on the General Staff of the Army : Deputy Secretary in the Military Department and in charge of the Cossipur Gun Factory : wrote, in the British Indian Military Repository, papers on professional subjects, including ""the History of Sieges in Bengal"" : he died May 19, 1832.
