Henry Brooke, Rector of Kinawley and Kilina, Ireland : born about 1725 : joined the E.L Co'.s Civil Service, and rose to be a Member of the Madras Council : took, with George Stratton, a prominent part in the arrest and deposition of Lord Pigot, the Governor of Madras, in 1776 : and was one of the four sentenced on Feb. 10, 1780, in the King's Bench to pay a fine of £1,000 each for their action : died in Dublin, March 26, 1786. |
