	Entry	Born Feb. 29, 1848 : son of Jonathan Haigh Branfoot, M.D. : educated at Epsom College, and Guy's Hospital : entered the I.M.S., 1872 : held various civil appointments connected with the Madras Medical College, 1872-9 : Professor of Midwifery there, and Superintendent Madras Government Maternity Hospital, 1879-98 : C.I.E., 1898 : P.M.O., Rangoon and Bangalore, 1898-1903 : retired, 1903 : President, Medical Board, India Office, 1904 : contributed to medical journals and societies.
