	Entry	Maharaja: born March 10, 1863: descended from the founders of the Baroda dynasty : adopted on May 27,1875, by Jamnabai, widow of the Gaekwar Khandi Rao : educated at the Maharaja's School at Baroda : was installed, 1875 : during his minority, there was a Council of Regency under a British officer and Raja Sir Tanjore Madhava Rao K.C.S.I. {q.v.) : on Dec. 28, 1881, he was given the administration of the State : made G. C.S.I, in 1887 : an enlightened ruler, and holds advanced views on social questions : he has several times visited Europe.
