Co., 1807-46, and M.P. for Bridgewater 1807-32, afterwards for Bedfordshire : Chairman of the Directors in 1810, 1824, 1830, 1838 : much opposed to Lord Ellenborough's administration of India : Colonel of the Royal East India Volunteers : died March 7, 1847.
