	Entry	Educated at Aberdeen University : for years connected with Blackwood, and his chief adviser in the management of the magazine : went to India as a journalst on the staff of the Indian Statesman : declined a civil appointment offered him : went to Ceylon : was special correspondent there in connexion with H.R.H. the Prince of Wales' visit to the East : on returning to England, wrote for Reviews and Magazines : wrote novels with success, such as The City of Sunshine, Earl's Court, a biography of Admiral Keith, and other similar works : died April 22, 1896.
