The deceased was born at Holtzminden in the Duchy of Brunswick. Early in youth the Count entered the Military Service of Frederick the Great King of Prussia as an officer under the command of Prince Henry and acted in the War of ??? against the Emperor Josephus in Bohemia. In 1781 he transferred his services to the Republic of Holland where he continued in ??? until 1787 when he was appointed a Lieutenant in the Netherlands ?? and joined a Dutch Man of War then under orders to ?? ?? Indies and arrived at Batavia in the same year. Owing to ?? indisposition the deceased was obliged to retire from the ??.
