Register Entry  Near Hawulbaugh on the 9th January by the accidental discharge of his gun while out shooting Lieut Beauchamp Scarlett Cooper of the 44th Bengal Native Infantry aged 20 years. His remains were carried by the sepoys of the Regt through the street formed by the funeral party & from thence to the grave by his brother officers which may afford some idea of how very much he was beloved
