Register Entry  We have the melancholy duty of recording the death of Captain Willes which took place this morning at 4AM. The late Captain had been in command of HM Ship 'Vanguard' nearly three years and was the Senor Officer of the Squadron on the Athens station for the last six months. He died on board the 'Vanguard' after a few days' illness from an attack of apoplexy. He was much esteemed by his officers and ship's company. Captain Willes was about the age of 63. - Malta Times October 26
