Register Entry  At Digga Dinapore on the 27th Aug in the 67th year of his age after a protracted illness Major General George Cooper Commanding Dinapore Division of the Army. Few men have lived more estimably and none have died more sincerely lamented. A life of active but of unostentatious benevolence won for him the love and gratitude of many and the pure spirit of Christian piety which uniformly characterised his conduct and lasted to the latest period of existence gives to his lamenting family and sorrowing friends the comforting assurance that he is among the number of those who sleep in the dust of the earth ot awake to everlasting life.
