| Surname | Apcar | | Given name(s) | Gregory | | Place | Calcutta | | Year | 1847 | | month | Jun | | day | 23 | | Register Entry | At Calcutta on Wednesday morning the 23rd June Gregory Apcar Esq of the Firm of Messrs Apcar and Co aged 53 years. The deceased arrived in British India from Ispahan in 1811 and by his industry, perseverance and adherence to mercantile pursuits rendered himself a respected and useful member of the Armenian community to which he belonged. Kind and affable in disposition, courteous and amiable in manners and emminently distinguished for such mental and moral qualities as are calculated to elevate the mind and ennoble the heart he had justly endeared himself to a numerous circle of relatives and friends by whom his removal will be long and deeply deplored. This hurried and brief obituary is penned by one who long enjoyed the friendship of the deceased and who by offering this humble tribute to his Christian and moral virtues casts his rosemary on the grave of his departed friend whose memory shall ever continue fresh and green in his recollection. | | Edition Year | 1847 | | Edition Date | 7 Jul |
