To do good was the peculiar maxim with him and his extensive acquaintances in the Military Branch of the Service as well as among the native community at large imposed upon him frequent occasions from which he never shrank of practicing that maxim. He was one of the leading members of the Prabhoo caste of affable and social deportment.
